| CHIP HERR |
| ‘23 & ‘24 NATIONAL CHAMP |
Chip Herr has been a professional racing driver since 1998, competing in series including World Challenge, IMSA, and the MX-5 Cup. He currently races in the SCCA Majors Championship with his Audi RS3 LMS TCR and his Audi A4 —the same car he drove to race wins in 2006 and 2007 in World Challenge. After earning back-to-back podium finishes in 2021 and 2022, Chip went on to claim consecutive victories in the STU National Championship Race at the 2023 and 2024 SCCA Runoffs. In 2025, he added another Runoffs podium with a second-place finish in the STU class, narrowly missing the win after a race-long battle with Peter Cunningham.
SCCA RUNOFFS | ROAD AMERICA 2025
Chip Herr and Peter Cunningham put on a spectacular race for the 2025 SCCA National Championship in the STU (Super Touring Under) Class. Multiple times swapping the lead and having just a professional race between two veterans in road racing. Thanks to Hoosier Tire, MCS, Audi Sport, Carbotech Brakes, Roux Helmets, and Alpinestars for the support!
SCCA RUNOFFS | ROAD AMERICA 2024
It didn’t go as planned but Chip won his second SCCA National Championship in a row. This time at America’s National Park of Speed, Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. After a post race disqualification to another competitor, Herr was awared first in STU! With a legal car and a consistent race performance, Herr captured his first another SCCA Championship.
Herr was excited about his finish. “I want to thank Hoosier and Carbotech and Motion Control Suspension – it's a team effort and we love coming here and I love to drive this car,” Herr said after the race. “I know the race was a little boring, but I didn't want to be part of a highlight reel hitting the wall this year.”
SCCA RUNOFFS | VIR 2023
Spin & Win! After trying and coming up close for two years, Chip found his way to victory lane with his trusty Audi A4 at ViR. Chip pushed a little too far on cold tires into turn 3 on lap 1. The A4 slid off track, making contact with the tire wall after a few rotations. Chip dropped it into gear and proceeded to go on a charge from last to first, making the race-winning pass on the last lap. A memorable race he and his crew will remember forever!
SCCA RUNOFFS | VIR 2022
Chip claimed another Silver Medal at the 2022 SCCA Runoffs at ViR. After having transmission troubles with his Audi A4, Chip jumped in a WRX and started from the back in 21st. In Hurricane like conditons, Chip made up 20 spots in 3 laps before the race was red flagged.
SCCA RUNOFFS | INDY 2021
In 2021, Chip returned to U.S. competition, competing in the SCCA Majors Championship with his Stasis Audi A4—the same car he raced in 2006 and 2007. He qualified for and competed in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he earned a second-place finish and a silver medal in the STU class.
